Indian classical santoor player Rahul Sharma, born in the illustrious family of Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma started playing the harmonium at an early age and later taking on the santoor when he was 13, wasn't completely sure of pursuing music until he turned 17. After graduation he started performing with his father accompanying him in concerts and later taking the santoor into world music with various collaborations, including Namaste India. Rahul and Kenny G's album reached #2 on Billboard world charts and #4 on Board Smooth jazz charts. He also collaborated with Grammy-winning electronica group Deep Forest which combined Indian folk and santoor with electronica. He has been awarded the Sangeet Natak Academy award.Know more
